AMERICAN ROULETTE

American Roulette is a classic casino game at Manchester235 (the word roulette means 'little wheel' in French).

The principle of Roulette is easy: the Dealer spins a ball around the rim of a revolving wheel which is divided into 37 equal compartments clearly numbered 0 to 36. Each number is either red or black except zero which is usually green. The ball eventually comes to rest in one of the compartments and that compartment is the winning number. The Dealer will show this on the layout by placing a 'dolly' on the winning number.

Players may place bets on the following options

  • Even Chances - Red, Black, etc. – paid 1 - 1
  • Dozens - 1 to12, 13 to 24, 25 to 36 – paid 2 - 1
  • Columns - 1st, 2nd, 3rd –  paid 2 - 1
  • Numbers (straight ups) – 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. - paid 35 - 1
  • Splits - Between adjacent numbers – paid 17 - 1
  • Streets - Strips of three numbers – paid 11 - 1
  • Corners - The corner of four numbers – paid 8 - 1
  • Six-Lines - Strips of six numbers – paid 5 - 1

Any bets not associated with the winning number will be lost and surrendered to the House, unless the number is zero and all stakes on the even chance bets will lose half stakes.

At Manchester235, Roulette can also be played from the privacy of your own terminal with our Touchbet and Automated Roulette machines.

TIPS & ADVICE

  • Generally, you will be given different coloured wheels chips to play with. These make it easier for both the Players and the Dealer to see whose chips are whose.
  • On the tables you will see an oval track which consists of the wheel numbers in order. This is for the Dealer to place ‘Neighbour bets’: a 5 piece wager covering 5 adjacent numbers, two either side of the number you called. For example, for ‘Zero’ the neighbours will cover 3, 26, 32 and 15 as well as 0. If one of these is a winning number the Dealer will place one of the 5 pieces on to that number.
  • You can play specific sections of the wheel. These are known as the French bets and are as follows:
    • Voisin is a 9 piece bet covering the following 17 numbers 0,2,3 by 2 pieces, 4/7, 12/15, 18/21, 19/22, 25/28 by 2 pieces, 32/35
    • Tier is a 6 piece bet covering the following 12 numbers 5/8, 10/11, 13/16, 23/24, 27/30, and 33/36
    • Orphelins is a 5 piece bet covering the following numbers 1, 6/9, 14/17, 17/20, 31/34
